Gianfranco Iovino  is an Italian author. He was born in Rome on 3rd September 1965.

When he was three, his family moved to Torre del Greco (nearly Naples) until 1995 when he moved to Verona (Juliet and Romeo’s town) where he lives at the present time.

Since he was a child, he has always shown a great aptitude for art.

Several times, he was both an actor and a director of classical Neapolitan plays. Musically, having completed his studies in music theory, he began to work with bands and singers of Italian pop music, in order to create new songs and soundtracks.

PUBLISHING NOVELS:

CuoriNellaTorment @ is his first work which tells about a love born in chat, it was  published by Seneca Edizioni, Turin, May 2005.

Gianfranco Iovino donated the proceeds of the novel to support research for the treatment of muscular dystrophy, through UILDM Onlus.

 

A new edition of CuoriNellaTorment@ it has been published by Laura Capone Publishing, Milan, June 2011 (current year.) The proceeds of the book  are going to support research for Multiple Sclerosis, through AISM Onlus.

English version of it, StormyHe@rts, will be published in October 2011 and it can be bought online typing Laura Capone Publishing and on several online international book store.

 

His second novel, Dietro di me, published by Giraldi Editore, Bologna, December 2006,  was inspired by a song  Buona fortuna e buon viaggio by Pooh (a known Italian band.) Stefano D'Orazio, both drummer of the band and author of the text, wrote the preface of Dietro di me. The novel tells about Olga’s odyssey, an Ukrainian girl forced into prostitution, the book’s project is related to Rock No War humanitarian association and to the draft Save the children in Loas.

In June 2008 went out Tramedamore, published by A.Car Edizioni. Paolo Belli and Francesco Facchinetti (known Italian singers) are only two of the several artists who helped Gianfranco Iovino to further the book for a new project for South Africa Salviamo i bambini dall'AIDS  (we aid children from AIDS) through Aiutare i Bambini Onlus (Aids children.)

For December 2011, a new novel, Oltre il confine will come out by SassoScritto Editore, Florence. It tells about the dysthymia depression of the teen-age protagonist that was caused by sexual abuse. The novel will be linked to some associations against child abuse.

 

In November 2010, he was admitted to journalists register, and now he works with several online newspapers and magazines that concern themselves with music and culture.
